The clammy weather and an annoying car alarm stop John from getting to sleep. When Harry comes home and Mark calls round after another row with his parents, the three stay awake into the early hours, with Mark worried about his parents' plans to emigrate and Harry concerned about Clare's refusal to move in with him.
